1 Across is a long-standing subscription publication posted monthly to its subscribers. The magazine has pedigree as it was founded by the late-great Araucaria in 1984, and still features his puzzles (published posthumously) in every issue.
Since 2000, the magazine has been edited by The Spectator's Tom Johnson, and currently features an interesting editorial section (often with guests such as John Henderson or Don Manley contributing). It also provides puzzles from established setters as well as those who are up-and-coming which often have some sort of a theme. Further to this, each issue carries a prize puzzle.
A sample issue is available by writing to the address found here and subscritption is very resaonable indeed ... so what are you waiting for!
Poin's Cryptic Crosswords is the sensibly-named site of Independent setter Poins. While the site appears to be parked at the moment, I include it here as it has a few cryptic puzzles and quick crosswords for you to enjoy.
So that's about it for now - no doubt i'll offer more blog posts spotlighting the content of other sites in the future, but until then I hope I have given you a small push towards three excellent venues for the consumption of cryptic crossword goodness.
Thanks for listening and hope to see you around the site[s] sometime soon.
And, of course, don't forget my very own Hoskinscrosswords ...
