Pleased to be able to announce that in March of 2016 I joined the setting team for The Times Literary Supplement under the pseudonym Talos. My puzzles are at the easier end of the TLS spectrum and my first grid appeared on March 11th (TLS #1116).
The TLS setting team works in a 4 weekly rotation with the following setters in addition to myself:
Myrtilus is Bob Price, a former successful contestant in the Sunday Times clue writing contest
Praxiteles is D G Tallis, who has set puzzles for many other papers, including the Telegraph, The Times (Listener), the Church Times, and the Oxford Times
If you like literature and crosswords, The TLS can be found every Friday in all good newsagents, and the literary themed crosswords can be accessed at The Times Crossword Club by those with a subscription to the Times.
If you want to check out my previous puzzles there, then look for:
TLS #1116 (March 11th) by Talos
TLS #1120 (April 8th) by Talos
TLS #1124 (May 6th) by Talos
It also happens that I am the setter of the current TLS:
TLS #1128 (June 3rd) by Talos
For anyone wanting to have a look at the puzzles and how they work, but haven't yet bought the TLS or seen the puzzles on The Crossword Club, the Times for the Times website has kindly started blogging them. They usually appear four weeks after publication as they are prize puzzles.
Many thanks to Peter Biddlecombe for bringing me aboard, hope you enjoy the puzzles, check out the Times Literary Supplement in print and have a crack at them at the Crossword Club if you can.
